Tentholm was their first place of residence, basically a tent on the beach. Falconhurst was their next home, built in the branches of a hollow tree (this is the one usually depicted in movies based on the novel). Rock House was built in a salt cavern which was hollowed out an improved upon.
The Robinsons regularly moved about their different residences, depending on the type of activity they were doing, hunting, fishing, etc. They continued to make improvements on each home during their stay of around ten years on the island.
