In Sweat the wife no longer loved her husband. He had abused her and when the snake attacked him she saw a way out of her miserable life with an abusive man.
In Trifles, the husband was also abusive and the wife did indeed conceal evidence because she is the one who killed her husband. She just could not take it any more and felt she had no other way out.
The similarities are both were abused, both got out of the relationship, the question is whether or not reckless endangerment of the husband by not seeking medical intention is the same thing as pre-planned murder.
