In "The Raven", which rhyming words are repeated often troughout the poem, and which two lines in each stanza do not contain end rhyme?rhyme

Rhyming words:


  • Rapping, tapping, napping

  • Lenore, Nevermore, bore, yore, o'er, explore, before, door...

The 1st and 3rd lines or the a and c lines regularly do not have end rhyme because they generally have internal rhyme. This means there is a word within the line that rhymes with the end word.


The effect of the rhyme scheme in this poem is a fantastic rhythm that helps move the reader from stanza to stanza with intensifying mood and even plot development.
